WHY IS THERE SUCH A DIRE NEED FOR SUCH A PROGRAM?
It is no mystery that when it comes to money and finances, many women know very little.
The traditional view that a man should handle the responsibility of finances still holds true today, even though the number of women working outside the home has grown steadily over the last few years.
The reason for this vagueness is not difficult to understand either. Most
girls grow up seeing their fathers pay the bills, and once these young
women get married, they have no qualms about having husbands assume the
responsibility.
What happens to these women if they are unlucky enough not to have a successful marriage? Smart Money reported in September 1995, that 26% of women experience a decline in their standard of living in the first year after divorce.
While families impress the importance of education on women, many fail to instruct them on the consequence of understanding finance, banking, investments or creditworthiness, especially as they get ready to leave home and venture out on their own.
